Today, the repatriation of the Greek citizen, a passenger on the cruise ship MV Hondius, where the hantavirus outbreak occurred, is planned
According to the Ministry of Health’s briefing, the Greek citizen is to be transported by Dutch aircraft to Eindhoven airport in the Netherlands and then by a special air force flight to the military airport of Elefsina.
From there, he will be picked up by an ambulance of the EKAB and transferred to a specially designed negative pressure chamber at the University General Hospital “Attikon”, where he will be placed under a mandatory 45-day quarantine.
The Greek citizen is in good health and asymptomatic.
According to the indicated security measures, for precautionary reasons, the Greek citizen will be accompanied on the special repatriation flight by an EKAB doctor, an EKAB rescuer-nurse and the chairman of the scientific board of EODY Mr. Theodoros Vasilakopoulos.
