Police officers arrested a man in an area of the municipality of Platanias in Chania for offences involving drugs and weapons.
Specifically, according to police, yesterday 06.05.2026 in the afternoon, police officers of the Department of Drug Enforcement of the Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes Chania in the context of the special planning and actions drawn up by the Chania Police to combat the possession and trafficking of drugs and illegal possession of weapons, searched the home of a 24-year-old foreigner and outdoors, where they found and seized 2 pistols, 2 magazines, 40 cartridges of various calibres, 95 grams of raw cannabis, 12.5 grams of cocaine, a small amount of processed cannabis, precision scales, a sum of money 2.150 euros as proceeds from illegal activities, materials for packaging drugs and a mobile phone.
The arrested man will be taken to the competent prosecuting authority while the preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Department of Drug Enforcement of the Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution and Detection of Crimes Chania.
