The price of a barrel of North Sea Brent was rising 5% in Asian trading a little while ago, following news of bombings of energy infrastructure in Iran and Qatar, heightening concerns about oil and gas supplies to the market.
Around 04:15 (GMT), the price of a barrel of Brent was jumping 5.02% to $112.77, its highest level since March 9. That of West Texas Intermediate (WTI), the US benchmark variety, was rising at the same time by 2.67%, to $98.89.
