Akylas spoke to the camera of the “Weekend Live” show with Dimitris Panopoulos and Marji Lazarou, which aired Saturday afternoon on SKAI.

Among other things, the young singer referred both to his dynamic and discussed presence so far in the run-up to Eurovision 2026, and to how he is affected psychologically by the comments and criticisms.

Specifically, he admitted that the more eccentric performances on the promo tour were a conscious choice, aimed at getting attention. As he said, “We wanted to challenge and not go unnoticed. Like it or not, the important thing is that people are talking about us.”

At the same time, he revealed that he monitors public comments, citing his participation in “Sing for Greece” as an example. He said he had read reviews that said he lacked energy in his first performance in the semi-final.

This, he explained, had a strong effect on him and pushed him to work harder: “That’s where I really got convinced. I stayed two nights before the final and kept rehearsing at home with the microphone to get better.”
