Changes to the operation of Line 2 of the Athens Metro are in effect today, Monday, May 4, due to rail replacement and 5G network installation works.

Specifically, the stations Attiki, Larissa Station, Metaxourgio, Omonia and University will close at 21:40, which is approximately 2.5 hours earlier than the normal working hours.

During the works, train traffic on Line 2 will only run on the following sections:

  • Anthoupoli – Sepolia
  • Syndma – Elliniko

In order to serve passengers on the Sepolia – Syntagma section, the X18 bus line will temporarily operate.

Before the early closure of the stations, the last trains will depart as follows:

To Elliniko:

  • From Sepolia: 21:30
  • From Attica: 21:32
  • From Larissa Station: 21:33
  • From Metaxourgio: 21:34
  • From Omonia: 21:36
  • From University: 21:38

To Anthoupolis:

  • From Syntagma: 21:41
  • From University: 21:43
  • From Omonia: 21:44
  • From Metaxourgio: 21:46
  • From Larissa Station: 21:47
  • From Attica: 21:49

Interurban bus line X18

The X18 (Syntagma – Agios Antonios) line will serve passengers during the works, without passing through the stations of Sepolia and Attiki.

Indicative stops:

  • Direction to Agios Antonios: Syntagma, University, Omonia, Metaxourgio, Larissa Station, Kadmu
  • Direction to Syntagma: Agios Antonios, Kadmou, Larissa Station, Peroke, Omonia, Klathmonos Square

These regulations are considered necessary for the implementation of important projects that will improve the daily operation of the metro and the service of passengers.
