Alexandros Tsouvelas was a guest on the show “Rendezvous at the weekend” earlier today (5/4). Online via Teams, the well-known comedian spoke to Ioanna Maleskou and Lambros Konstantaras about the renewal of his collaboration with SKAI, the success of “Then and Now” and the weekly live streaming he does on “Forgotten”.
“A lot of times in business you have to make decisions and separate emotions as well, because that’s the way life goes. I’ve had it happen to me in the past. […] My soul is in “back then” and I miss very much this comfortable and no politically correct and this relaxation that we had in general,” Alexandros Tsouvelas admits.
Revealing an unknown, humorous incident with his co-star in the series, Elena Charalamboudi, he goes on to recount:
“I’ve got the hang of it with the truck, getting down thirds, fourths, normally. And the crew signals to me that I have to turn, turn back, change the plans. I’m writing them normally, Elena’s next to me and she’s doing it: “You missed the exit, Taki!” “Come on, baby,” I say, “We’ll find her…” “It’s Helena,” she says, “I’m so scared, please.”
“I don’t think we’re doing anything unique. Too many people have sat in an armchair to talk, it’s just that we’ve managed to connect and demystify the event. That’s what I try to do on radio and TV and stand-up, demystify. We’ve created a company. We’ve got some measurements now, we’re number seven worldwide in live streaming,” says Alexandros Tsouvelas.
“The truth is that I have renewed for another two years with Bwin SPOR FM and we have renewed – formal signatures remain – with SKY. I wouldn’t want me to take the project to another channel. The truth is that, because I’ve been in the SKY group through Bwin SPOR FM for nine years, there had been various discussions, but I always say “no” because I want to be sure about something on TV, because it can burn everything else you’ve created and take you down a path of difficulty and mental illness with TV. It’s a bit of a squeeze, Alexander Tsuvelas replies about his TV future.
“For me my concern, because people ask me what success is, success is sleeping soundly and not arguing with 100 people before you go to bed. I’ve avoided that. And the truth is that because SKY, a huge conglomerate that pays on time, of course, opened the door for me, very, very important…
We have a good working relationship and they let us free to create and that’s very, very important. Not to have, say, people over your head who all need and have the experience to show you a guideline, but they can also break up the creation,” he notes.
In fact, Alexandros Tsouvelas did not hesitate to humor the two presenters, commenting on a disagreement they had between them on air, saying: “I admire that disagreement, I’m telling you now, I wish the tones would go up so I could get popcorn for the Champions League, I’m telling you now they’re going to keep it going.”
