Alexandros Tzorbas spoke to the show “Rendezvous in the weekend”, referring to his decision to end his football career, as well as his long-standing relationship with his wife, Chrysavgi Atsidakou.

The former goalkeeper revealed that the decision to retire came after his stint in India, at a time when his personal and family life was outweighed by his football career.

“They were circumstantial. I finished my career in India. Greece at that time was reeling from too many problems of an economic nature,” he said.

“But the most important thing was that I needed to be close to my children. Maximus, my son, as soon as I got back from India, grabbed my leg and stayed there for three hours. That played a very important role,” he confessed.

At the same time, he spoke fondly of his wife, with whom he and his wife have been walking together for more than two decades.

“My wife and I have been together since we were 22 years old and now I am approaching 44. She has lived this whole journey beside me, from the spotlight to the transition to a completely different daily life after football,” he said.

Alexander Jorvas highlighted through his statements the importance of family and the support of loved ones, elements that, it appeared, played a key role in the important decisions of his life.
