A new case of extreme neglect has come to light involving a family whose children were living in squalid conditions in Agioi Anargyros.
Dias police officers proceeded to search the family’s home following a complaint from a citizen. During the inspection they found that the three children, aged 7, 5 and 3, were living in poor sanitary and living conditions.
The police arrested the parents, aged 31 and 36, while the three children in the family, a boy and two girls aged 7, 5 and 3, were taken to the Children’s Hospital for protective custody.
The relevant prosecutor has been informed about the case and the living conditions of the family are being investigated.
It is noted that a complaint had been filed two years ago about the parents and they were receiving visits from the welfare department.
