Three foreigners, members of the criminal organization, have been identified, 2 of whom are already incarcerated in a Correctional Facility for similar offences, while the third is wanted following a breach of restrictions imposed on him for committing similar offences

Eight cases of theft were solved, with the total illegal benefit exceeding €300,000.

The Organized Crime Directorate dismantled a criminal organization whose members were committing burglaries in luxury residences, mainly in the southern suburbs of Attica.

A case has been filed against them for a criminal organisation, the members of which committed aggravated theft by two or more perpetrators, organised for the purpose of committing theft, both committed and attempted, violation of residence restrictions and money laundering.

As revealed by the investigation of the Property Section of the Sub-Directorate for Crimes against Life and Property, at least since the spring of 2025, the members of the criminal organization, acting in concert, have been committing aggravated thefts of luxury homes in order to obtain illegal financial gain.

In order to achieve their goal, they had developed a specific methodology (modus operandi), with the main characteristic of the way of approaching and escaping, to and from their targets, as follows:

  • they were equipped with appropriate tools for committing thefts (crowbars, screwdrivers, etc.),
  • they searched the premises of the homes and removed sums of money, valuables, luxury bags and clothes, electronic devices and anything that could bring them a profit, and if they found a safe, they dismantled it and its contents,
  • while using money transfer shops to send funds to their country of origin.
  • In addition, the role of each of the members of the organization was established as follows:
  • 35-year-old, who was the leading member of the group, participated in almost all the criminal acts, guiding his accomplices. He would break into the balcony doors with the help of the others, either by giving them the burglary tools or by watching the area, while signalling the entry and exit of the houses. In addition, he instructed the team members to avoid cameras, and if they were seen, he was the one who would talk to the victims,
  • 29-year-old and 52-year-old were the operational members of the group as they played the role of burglars, assisting the lead member in breaking windows, balcony doors, etc.
  • .

The investigation so far has established their involvement in -8- cases of thefts and attempts to steal from homes in Alimos, Glyfada, Varkiza, Voula and Perama.

It should be noted that the accused, of whom the 35-year-old leading member and the 52-year-old are already incarcerated in a Penitentiary, are involved in several cases for similar offences.

The case file formed against them was submitted to the Athens Prosecutor’s Office and the case was referred to an investigator, where it was decided that the 35-year-old should be remanded in custody, that a European Arrest Warrant should be issued for the 29-year-old who is wanted, and that restrictive conditions should be imposed on the 52-year-old.
