Authorities have handcuffed a 47-year-old man accused of abusing his 16-year-old son, who is disabled.
The arrest took place yesterday in Chania, following a complaint by the 46-year-old wife and mother of the minor, who even said that her husband has repeatedly used violence against their child.
According to the complaint, the 47-year-old man struck the 16-year-old, who is on the autism spectrum and has a 79% disability rate, with his hands, causing him physical injury.
The mother said that last month the father had attacked the minor again, hitting him in the head, face and body, and had also locked him in the storage room of the house.
A forensic examination has been ordered for the juvenile, while police continue to investigate to fully clarify the case.
