Tassos Iordanidis appeared as a guest on “The 2Night Show” on the evening of Monday, June 15, and spoke with Grigoris Arnaoutoglou about public exposure, social media, and the impact that negative comments can have on the children of people who arein the public eye.
“In the age of social media, things have changed a lot. You asked me earlier about Thalia and the kids. Now I’m hesitant to go into personal matters, not because there’s a problem in our relationship, but because we live in a time when malicious comments run rampant. It may not affect Thalia or me that much, but no matter how hard you try to protect your children, at some point they’ll come into contact with all of this. What I don’t want to go through again is seeing my child cry because of a comment they read online,” the actor said at the outset.
Tassos Iordanidis then described an incident that left a lasting impression on him:
“There was one time when my heart was truly torn apart. We had given a joint interview with Thalia, and at the time we had said we wouldn’t appear on TV together again. Despite that, we appeared on a show and spoke openly about our relationship, emphasizing that we’re doing well and that everything is going smoothly between us.”
As he explained, the negative comments that followed particularly affected his daughter:
“We knew there would be negative reactions; it’s part of the game. At one point, I gave my phone to my daughter to play with, and she read some of the comments. It was very hard to see her upset. Some people were writing that we were supposedly trying to mislead people and that we’re actually heading for a breakup. At that moment, I asked myself: Why should a child have to be exposed to such cruelty?”
