Shocking scenes unfolded on Monday afternoon in Drama, where a family dispute ended in tragedy, claiming the lives of two Greek police officers.
Authorities were notified of the incident after a call was made to the Emergency Response Center by the family’s child. According to initial reports, the child stated that his mother was injured in the basement of their home.
Police officers who arrived at the home found the woman in extremely serious condition and immediately initiated procedures to transport her to the hospital. Despite the doctors’ efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries.
At the same time, investigations were underway when a second incident prompted the authorities to take action once again. A citizen alerted the police to a man who had been found inside a vehicle and was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival at the scene, it was determined that the man was the woman’s husband, who also served in the Greek Police. According to the information available so far, investigators are examining the possibility that the man shot himself with his service weapon.
