Alexandros Giotopoulos will spend the night at the GADA headquarters tonight; he is being transferred there from Korydallos Prison, where he was taken this afternoon following the decision of the 5th Criminalof the Supreme Court, which upheld the prosecutor’s appeal that overturned the decision to release him. According to police reports, law enforcement authorities received the Judicial Council’s decision regarding Giotopoulos’s return to prison this afternoon.

This afternoon, Al. Giotopoulos left his home in Vyronas and boarded a taxi bound for Korydallos Prison, escorted by patrol cars. However, a short distance from his home, the police officers had him board one of the patrol cars, in which he was transported to Korydallos. There, however, according to the police, after speaking with him, the prison prosecutor determined that the decision must be carried out, and for this reason, it was decided to transfer him to the Athens Police Headquarters (GADA), where he will spend the night and tomorrow morning will be brought before the Piraeus Appeals Prosecutor for the execution of the decision, after which he will be taken back to Korydallos Prison.
