In a post on social media, Minister of Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou welcomed the new Deputy Minister, Marilena Soukouli-Viliali, to the Ministry, expressing his confidence that she will make a substantial contribution to the achievement of the Ministry’s goals.

Mr. Papastavrou described the new deputy minister as a professional with extensive experience in the private sector and the real economy, as well as a politician from Corinth with a continuous and substantial presence in public life over the past two decades.

At the same time, she emphasized that the knowledge, diligence, and sense of responsibility that distinguish her are guarantees for the successful performance of her new duties.

“With the knowledge, diligence, and sense of responsibility that set her apart, I am certain that she will make a substantial contribution to achieving our goals: sustainable development with clear rules in the sector and the protection of the environment for the benefit of future generations,” he noted.

The Minister also made special mention of the work and legacy of the late Nikos Tagaras, noting that Ms. Soukouli-Viliali is called upon to carry on the work he left behind with dignity.

In closing his post, Mr. Papastavrou wished the new Deputy Minister every success in assuming her duties at the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
