Oil prices were falling in early morning Asian markets, hours after the Israeli Prime Minister’s press conference last night, during which Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Iran is being “decimated” and that the war may end “sooner” than is being considered.

The price of a barrel of North Sea Brent was down 2.55% at $105.88 at around 03:40 (GMT). It had been as close as $120 the day before.

Meanwhile, that of a barrel of the US benchmark WTI was down 2.46% at $93.20 a barrel.

The Israeli prime minister’s remarks “calmed” the market, SPI Asset Management’s Steven Innes estimated in a note — as the war, in its 20th day, continues to rage.
