The large-scale air exercise “Ramstein Flag 26”, coordinated by NATO’s Allied Air Command(AIRCOM), began today, Monday, June 8, 2026.

As announced by the Air Force General Staff, the exercise will conclude on Friday, June 19.

The exercise is taking place in areas of operation stretching from Norway to Spain, with the participation of 19 allied countries, more than 150 aircraft and a similar number of personnel.

The Air Force is participating with a squadron of 4 F-16 aircraft from 337 Squadron, 110 Fighter Wing, which have been redeployed to Los Llanos Air Base, Albacete, Spain, and 4 Rafale aircraft from 332 Squadron, 114 Fighter Wing, which have been redeployed to Evenes Air Base, Kingdom of Norway.

To support the Greek participation in the exercise, the Air Force performed personnel and material transport missions with C-130 and C-27J aircraft, ensuring the timely deployment and support of Greek forces in the two parallel theaters of operations.

Ramstein Flag 26, the announcement noted, aims to enhance the interoperability, operational readiness and combined action capability of the Allied Air Forces in a complex and challenging operational environment, with a focus on countering current and future threats.
