Significant quantity, about 110 kilos, of drugs was found in a car with Greek license plates and seized by men of the Igoumenitsa Narcotics Department, in Nea Seleucia, while the driver of the vehicle, a 43-year-old Turkish man, was arrested, against whom a criminal case for violations of drug legislation was filed.
In particular, the police officers spotted the accused driving a car in Nea Seleucia, just a few kilometers from the city of Igoumenitsa, and signaled him to stop. During the subsequent check, 102 packages of raw cannabis, weighing a total of 109 kilograms and 364 grams, were found in the rear seats and luggage compartment of the vehicle.
The drugs as well as the car were seized, while the police investigation to discover any other persons involved in the case continues.
The arrested foreigner will be taken to the Prosecutor’s Office of Thesprotia.
