The Nafpaktia Traffic Police Department has revoked the driver’s license of a 75-year-old man who was involved in a traffic accident last Wednesday morning, 3/6, where a mother and her minor child were in danger.

According to the police, the driver’s license will be sent to the appropriate transportation department to be reviewed for the 75-year-old’s driving ability.

More specifically, according to police, the 75-year-old man, driving a car, swerved, violated a no-entry sign, entered oncoming traffic and drove against the direction of traffic in a one-way street, collided with three parked two-wheelers, two parked passenger cars, another passenger vehicle driving in the opposite direction, and with table seating, as well as with equipment of two commercial establishments.

The car’s path was terminated when it struck the frontages of the two stores, and the successive impacts and collision caused severe damage to all cars involved and the stores’ infrastructure, with no injuries reported.

Police officers of the Nafpaktia Traffic Police Department went to the scene, who, according to the police, found that the driver had a valid driving license, while they conducted an alcohol test on both the driver of the car that swerved and the driver of a second car involved, with a negative result for both.

The driver responsible was issued violations for violating a no-entry sign, driving against a one-way traffic lane, driving in the opposite direction of traffic and had his driver’s license revoked to be tested for physical and mental fitness to drive.

The Nafpaktia Traffic Police Department is conducting a preliminary investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident.
