Joannis Apergis was a guest on Penny Kavetsou’s show “Bedtimestories”, giving an interview with references to both his personal and professional life.
The actor spoke about his family and his professional paths, while he couldn’t hide his emotion when the conversation turned to his grandfather.
“I remember the lunches we used to have with my grandfather and now I try to continue this habit with my sons every Sunday, whenever my commitments allow me. I have a strong memory of his figure, his smell, his clothes, his skin, and even his personal belongings and his wallet. I keep them all kept at home and often smell them, because I can still feel his scent.
Through him I heard unique stories. I didn’t get to live with him as much as I would have liked and the moment I felt truly ready to have him by my side, I lost him. When I started working in theatre, I thought about how much I wanted to be underneath him and tell him that this is the continuation of his story. My grandfather was a very good man, although life didn’t treat him easy,” said an emotional John Apergis.
