Alexis Tsipras said: “Life with dignity”
Yes… back when we stood in ATM queues, begging for our accrued wages, for 20 and 50 euros.
“Strong Democracy” he said.
The man who ignored the popular mandate of the referendum and pursued the exact opposite policy to the one he promised.
Say “Strong Economy”
When the country was on the brink of collapse, burdened with new memoranda, insecurity and capital controls.
“Welfare state of rights”
.
What rights exactly?
When society was being brought to its knees by harsh unpopular policies, tax raids and the dismantling of the middle class?
“Resilient Greece in a world of constant crises”
With what plan?
With uncontrolled opening of borders and uncontrolled migration flows that have created huge social and national issues?
“Digital democracy and sovereignty”
Tapping into the pioneering digital state created from 2019 onwards;
On the reforms that others implemented while he couldn’t even organise the basics;
“A strong Greece that protects its rights and builds bridges of peace”
What else does he intend to concede?
Macedonia he handed over. What has he now set his sights on?
This is what Alexis Tsipras proposed yesterday at the presentation of his new party.
But the Greek people have no goldfish memory.
We are not just talking about a politician who ruled with abject failure and was judged for it by the Greek people, we are talking about a person who divided the country like few others in its post-communist history and whose choices set Greece back years.
He promised everything.
He cheated everyone.
And in the end he left behind new burdens, new division, deep insecurity and an impoverished, embarrassed country abroad that was trying to reorganize itself as soon as possible. And we succeeded!
So today it returns, trying to present itself as a “new solution”, with a party and a narrative that instead of uniting, continues to divide, with a rebranding of the bad times.
The question is simple:
How can this man ask for the trust of the Greek people again?
How can he look the people in the eye and ask for a vote of confidence when his own political career is an example to be avoided and one of the darkest periods of our country?
Greece needs seriousness, stability, consistency and truth.
No more demagogues and populists.
The Greek people are no longer being misled by parties-formers who have little of everything in their ideology with the ultimate goal of attracting more voters.
Here! We continue together, focusing on Greece and the citizens of our country, for the Greece of tomorrow, the Greece of growth, prosperity, security, meritocracy, with transparency and honesty, we continue for a proud Greece!
