“What can I say about the name, I guess EAM left it to Mr. Polakis,” Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said during the debate on “The social contract of health: The patient at the centre” at the 6th Health Conference organised by ygeiamou.gr and “Proto Thema”, when asked about the name ELAS of Alexis Tsipras’ party.
“There is a fragmented space in the opposition, especially on the left, but there is also a common ground: Mitsotakis and the government to go away this is not an alternative – the government has a plan for the next day, ‘we said, we did’ and we will do more – this comparison will be reflected in the 2027 elections, people want perspective,” the Prime Minister added, stressing: “I respect all my opponents, Tsipras was judged as prime minister and will be judged as the leader of a party we have not yet seen, if it is SYRIZA with a new AFM.”
He also stressed that “what I heard yesterday was a spectacular dive into the past, despite what we need to do for the future in our country.”
Referring to Maria Karystianou’s party, the Prime Minister said: “the country has experimented with self-appointed saviours, it must be judged on its positions.”
