The arrest of a 25-year-old man for possession and trafficking of significant quantities of cannabis (skunk) and cocaine in the wider area of Attica was made by police officers of the Directorate of Organized Crime. At the same time, a case was filed against a 20-year-old foreigner for violations of drug legislation and disobedience.

According to the police, an evaluation of information and a month-long investigation preceded, during which the 25-year-old’s criminal activity in drug trafficking was certified. During a search of his home, large quantities of hydroponic cannabis (skunk), cocaine, an air pistol and a machete knife were found. In total, more than 76 kilograms of skunk, 755 grams of cocaine, two motorcycles, four electronic precision scales, three mobile phones and the sum of 4,975 euros were seized.

As the investigation revealed, shortly before the operation, the 25-year-old had handed the 20-year-old a homemade nylon package containing hydroponic cannabis (skunk), weighing a gross weight of 1,030 grams. Then the 20-year-old, sensing an imminent check, threw the bag of drugs in the yard of an abandoned house in Athens.

The ELAS estimates that the expected economic benefit from the trafficking of the seized quantities exceeds 420.000 euros, while noting that the accused have been previously employed by the authorities for similar offences.

The arrested man was taken to the relevant prosecuting authority.
