Hellenic Train has announced the resumption of the railway connection between Thessaloniki and Florina from Saturday 30 May 2026.

In particular, two pairs of direct services will be operated daily on the route Thessaloniki – Edessa – Florina and vice versa, with intermediate stops.

Specifically, the routes are configured as follows:

From Thessaloniki to Florina:

Carriage 731: Departure at 10:40 – Arrival at 13:44

Amaxoscoria 733: Departure at 13:55 – arrival at 17:01

From Florina to Thessaloniki:

Train 730: departure at 06:45 – arrival at 09:49

Amaxoscoria 732: Departure at 14:15 – arrival at 17:21

The intermediate stops on the rail route include, but are not limited to: Sindos, Andendros, Platy, Alexandria, Veroia, Naoussa, Skydra, Edessa, Arnissa and Amyndeon.

It is noted that the 730 train (Florina – Thessaloniki) service on 30 May 2026 will be operated with a bus and intermediate stops at: Amyndeo, Arnissa, Edessa, Naoussa, Veria, Alexandria and Platy. From 31 May 2026 the route will be operated as usual by train.

At the same time, the trains running the Thessaloniki – Edessa – Thessaloniki route (1735, 1736) will operate with a new departure and arrival time, as follows:

Carriage 1735 (Thessaloniki – Edessa): departure at 18:30 – arrival at 20:12

Carriage 1736 (Edessa – Thessaloniki): departure at 20:45 – arrival at 22:27

It is noted that the bus lines that had substituted the rail services on the Edessa – Florina – Edessa section will also cease to operate from 30 May 2026.

The resumption of the services to Florina contributes to the strengthening of regional cohesion and sustainable mobility, offering reliable transport options for the travelling public.
