In response to a recent statement by Javier Bardem on toxic masculinity, Maria Iliaki and Crateros Katsoulis spoke on Tuesday morning 19/5 through the show “Early Early” about attitudes that are still being reproduced from a very young age.
Maria Iliaki stood on incidents she observes in her daily life. “You see them on the street, you see them in very simple everyday moments. I even see things in the playground, which bother me very much from parents, how they behave to boys and how they behave to girls. That’s why I don’t go to playgrounds, because I get mad at what I see,” she said.
For his part, Crateros Katsoulis said it is a deeply ingrained social mentality that does not change easily. “It is a given that when we say it is something ingrained, it is a social DNA that is perpetuated, but to change it, we have to act like scientists. By discovery, by research,” he said.
