An operation is underway since this morning by the organized crime unit of the Cretan Anti-Crimea Department of the AIOE to dismantle a criminal organization. The organisation consists of related persons involved in cases of extortion, arson, damage and fraud against EU financial interests.

According to a police update, so far three members of the organisation have been arrested under arrest warrants, as well as three people for the offence of animal theft, and a further update is expected.
