A 17-year-old foreigner was arrested for involvement in a case of illegal transportation of migrants, after a check by police officers of the Police Intelligence Unit in Ano Poli of Thessaloniki.
The young man, an Egyptian national, was spotted yesterday morning transporting on an electric scooter two foreigners, from Nepal and Pakistan (respectively), who were illegally residing in the country. When the police officers signaled him to stop, he tried to flee, continuing his journey by throwing a folding dagger on the roadway, but was stopped and arrested.
The police investigation revealed that the two men above had illegally entered Greece from Evros, the previous 24 hours, while temporarily staying in an apartment in Thessaloniki.
