Just before the conclusion of the student election process, early data from various regions of the country show that the GOP-NDFK seems to be heading towards another victory this year, maintaining its momentum in the lead. Turnout is estimated to show a slight drop compared to previous years, but party officials believe the final result will reaffirm its strong presence in universities.
At the same time, the DAP-NDFK speaks of problems in this year’s process, which it attributes to the PPS. It says that in some departments separate election procedures were recorded and ballot boxes were set up outside the unified framework, which – according to it – violates previous agreements between the factions.
In addition, the faction refers to incidents of tension in electoral departments, including in the Economics Department of the University of Athens, where – as it claims – there were repeated interruptions of the process by members of the PSC, which caused delays. For its part, the GAP-NDFK argues that such practices distort the image of the overall electoral process.
