The 17-year-old girl who fell with her friend of the same age from the 6th floor of an apartment building in Ilioupoli is giving the biggest fight for her life since yesterday, Tuesday (13.05.2026). She continues and is being treated in an extremely critical condition in the ICU of the KAT hospital while bearing severe head injuries, multiple fractures, one of them in the pelvis.

At least 20 doctors have been assigned to treat her. So far she has not undergone surgery as doctors wait for her to stabilize. At the same time, friends and classmates of the second 17-year-old, who succumbed to her injuries after falling from her Ilioupolis apartment building, bid her farewell today with white flowers.

The footage that came to light from the girls’ school is a “punch in the gut”. Silent children in black clothes went to their school today leaving flowers on the desk where their classmate sat until the day before yesterday.

A Ministry of Education team of social workers and child psychologists went to the school today to provide psychological help to any child in need.

The two girls fell hand in hand from the roof of the apartment building early Tuesday afternoon after one of them left a note to her family. They then locked the door behind them and fell.

The young woman wrote in her note that she was struggling with depression and that she was stressed about the National Exam she was taking in a few days.

At the same time, authorities also found the diary of the second 17-year-old hospitalized girl, finding commonalities with the note left by the girl who drowned.

It is believed the two girls had long planned to fall from the roof of the apartment building.

Emergency ambulances arrived at the scene within minutes and transported them to the Voula Asclepion Hospital. Doctors performed CPR on one of the 17-year-olds for an hour but she succumbed to her injuries shortly afterwards.

The second was transferred to the KAT where she continues to be treated until this moment, fighting the hardest battle of her life.

Authorities are also searching the girls’ cell phones to determine if there are any messages or conversations that triggered their unthinkable move.

Toxicology tests are also pending to see if the girls had used alcohol or any drugs.
