The tragedy that unfolded in Heliopolis, when two 17-year-old girls were found in a void from the roof of an apartment building, has caused deep mourning and intense emotion. One of the girls died, while the second is being treated with an intubator in an extremely critical condition.
The incident occurred at noon in an apartment building on Eleftheriou Venizelou Avenue, causing upset among residents in the area. Police forces and ambulances of the ambulance service immediately rushed to the scene.
Video from a security camera shown by MEGA captures the first moments after the fall, with the two minors found seriously injured on the ground, while rescuers and police officers attempt to take them to hospitals.
One of the two 17-year-olds succumbed to her injuries shortly afterwards. Her friend, with multiple injuries and severe head injuries, was first taken to the Voula Asclepion Hospital and then to the KAT, where doctors continue to fight to keep her alive.

According to reports, the two girls went up to the roof together, locked the door behind them and just before the fall were wearing headphones, holding each other’s hand.
Residents in the area say one of the two minors was having a lot of difficulty coping with the loss of her father, which they say had significantly affected her psychological state.
Police authorities are continuing to examine all the details of the case, collecting testimonies from relatives and friends of the two schoolgirls, while also investigating their movements in the hours leading up to the tragic incident.
