The 28-year-old mother of four minor children, who was allegedly swept away by the vehicle driven by her 30-year-old husband, is still in a serious condition, but without immediate danger to her life, at the University Hospital of Heraklion.
The 30-year-old, who was arrested and faces charges of attempted manslaughter with intent, is expected to enter a plea tomorrow, Tuesday, May 12. The 28-year-old woman was spotted last Saturday afternoon, May 9, by a passing driver at a point in Pantanassa, Malevizios Municipality, on the side of the road bleeding. An ambulance of the ambulance service arrived immediately and took her to hospital.
According to police information, initially her 30-year-old husband reported that the woman was accidentally found outside the vehicle and while it was moving. Subsequently, and based on the injuries sustained by the 28-year-old woman, it appears to have emerged that the young mother was swept from the vehicle and even while three of her children, aged 4, 7 and an infant of about three months, were inside.
According to PAGNI commander George Chalkiadakis, the woman has head injuries and a fracture of the second cervical vertebrae, her condition is considered serious, but her life is not in immediate danger.
