The Air Force celebrated today, Sunday 10 May, its 95 years as an independent branch of the Armed Forces, with an impressive airshow that took place on the beach of Flisvos, in front of the Statue of Constantine Palaiologos.

Crowds of people turned out early in the afternoon to see the entire Air Force’s air force fleet up close.

The event included impressive aircraft formations that filled the Attica sky.

In detail, the public had the opportunity to see a close-up view of a flight program with modern and historic aircraft, in a demonstration that aimed to highlight the overall timeless importance of the Air Force.

At the show, the audience enjoyed flights from all types of Air Force aircraft, linking the past – featuring the historic Spitfire and the legendary Phantom fighters – with the present and future represented by, among others, the modern F-16 and Rafale fighter aircraft.

In addition, the “Zeus” and “Daedalus” air display teams, as well as the Red Arrows, were present in the skies of Attica, while fighter aircraft that took part in the NATO Tiger Meet 26 exercise also participated.
