A fatal accident occurred today at noon on the island of Kos in the Mastichari area. Under circumstances being investigated by local authorities, a 61-year-old farmer was crushed by his tractor and fatally injured. Two vehicles of the Kos Fire Service with 8 firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated the operator, who was taken by ambulance rescuers to Kos hospital, unconscious.
The accident occurred when the tractor operator attempted to cross part of a ravine, causing his vehicle to overturn and trap him, fatally injuring him.
An investigation into the exact circumstances of the fatal accident will be carried out by officers of the Antimachia Kos Police Department.
