At the entrances of the former Magistrate’s Court on Loukareos and Degleri Streets, which will now be the exclusive access points for the site, where an 89-year-old man was recently shot and killed by an 89-year-old man, injuring court officials, will be activated and manned from Monday 11 May.

The statement by Appellant Christopher Linou said:

“Attorneys are advised that as of next Monday, 11.5.2026, the way of entry to the former Athens Magistrate’s Court will change, as from the above date both the guard post of Loukareos Street and the guard post of Degleri Street will be activated, which will be manned with the necessary force. This means that the arrival at the former Athens Magistrate’s Court (as well as the departure from there) will be for all without exception (Judges, Lawyers, Court Clerks and citizens) exclusively through the above outposts, without the possibility of access from other entry points, which are immediately abolished. It is noted that special care has been taken to facilitate the Lawyers in the exercise of their duties, as the outpost on Degleri Street is intended for the exclusive use of the Lawyers and the Judicial Officers, while the outpost on Loukareos Street will be entered by the Lawyers on a priority basis.

Finally, in order to avoid congestion, especially during the first days of the measure’s implementation, Mr.Mr. Attorneys by proxy to arrive on time at the premises of the former Athens Magistrate’s Court”.
