A Polish-flagged yacht ran aground in a sea area located 2.3 nautical miles northeast of Poros Troizinia, causing water to flow inside the vessel.

The vessel was carrying two foreigners, who were immediately and safely rescued by a Coast Guard patrol boat. According to information, they are in good health.

To deal with the incident, a Coast Guard flotilla, two passenger dredges and a private diver were mobilized to assist in the control and assessment of the yacht’s condition after the grounding and the inflow of water.

Weather conditions in the area were favourable, contributing to the smooth conduct of the rescue operation and the safe evacuation of the occupants.
