In order to prepare more effectively for the strike mobilization on May 13, ADEDY calls on its member federations to organize a nationwide day of action throughout the public sector on Tuesday, May 12.

In its statement, ADEDY said that the nationwide all-public strike on May 13 addresses a number of critical issues, such as wage demands, the treatment of inexactness and the consequences of the war developments, flexible forms of work, the tenure of contract workers, disciplinary law, but also the planned changes around the constitutional revision and tenure in the public sector. At the same time, reference is also made to health and safety issues in the workplace.

As stressed, the strike should be a massive and coordinated response of civil servants to all the main demands and open fronts concerning labour, economic, institutional and security issues.

In this context, ADEDY calls on its Prefectural Departments and member Federations to take all necessary information measures to ensure maximum participation in the 24-hour strike, which covers all public sector workers, regardless of their employment relationship.

At the same time, they are invited to enhance the visibility of the mobilisation by using every available means, such as announcements, posters, banners and electronic platforms, while active participation in the Panhellenic Day of Action on 12 May through tours, workplace gatherings and interviews is also requested.

Special emphasis is also placed on the organization of the strike rallies on Wednesday, May 13 by the Prefectural Departments, with a call to all unions in each region to actively participate.

In Athens, the strike meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 10:30 in the morning at Klathmonos Square, while in the rest of the country the meetings will be held at locations to be determined by the local Prefectural Departments of the Confederation.
