In an atmosphere of mourning, with the parents and siblings of the 21-year-old victim of the cold-blooded execution in Amoudara, Heraklion, tragic figures, the funeral service and his burial were held at noon in the family’s village, Chono Mylopotamos in Rethymnon.

Family relatives and friends from all over Crete said their final farewell to the 21-year-old, whose life was taken by the gun of his friend’s father. It all started when the perpetrator’s son died on October 30, 2023 in a car crash on Heraklion’s coastal avenue at Karavolas. The victim of the cold-blooded execution that took place the day before yesterday afternoon, May 5, 2026 was then 18 years old and while driving the car at the time, he lost control of the vehicle and was pinned to an electric light pole. The 17-year-old passenger, a friend and son of the perpetrator of the murder, with severe head injuries, was hospitalized in the ICU of the Venizelio Hospital in Heraklion and after 10 days he lost the battle with life.

Since then, the passenger’s father considered the driver as the main culprit of his 17-year-old son’s death. As a result, he took his life with six bullets from a pistol on Tuesday afternoon.

Today at the church of Agia Kyriaki in Chonos Mylopotamos the drama culminated and now society and the state will have to, as was pointed out to the bounty hunters, provide answers for a murder that had all the characteristics of a premeditated crime.
