Giorgos Paraschos made a confession about life and death on the occasion of his battle with cancer, talking about his faith in God and stating that he is calmly facing the possibility of the end of life, as he feels spiritual peace and hope for the future.
The actor was interviewed on “Happy Day” which aired on Tuesday, May 5, stressing that his health is going well and added that he visits his doctor every month. Speaking about cancer, George Paraschos referred to the course of his treatment and the attitude he has adopted towards life and the disease.
As he said: “I am well, I am stable, thank God. I will not say day by day, week by week, better. I monitor it every month, see where we are, thank God still in sedation. My doctor’s goal was for me to be able to live my life and so far he is succeeding in that. Those who have been through it understand what life is, they appreciate it in a different way. And I don’t think in these cases you’re afraid of losing your life. It scares you that you won’t have time to experience things, to experience things before you leave. That’s the fear more. I don’t care if I die now or if I’m lost or if I’m remembered or if… All I ask is that when I go, that our Christ raises his right hand and says, “Come, I’m waiting for you.”

Elsewhere in the interview, George Paraschos described the moment he was informed by his doctor of his health condition: “I think the hardest part was the moment I was told. I will never forget the moment the doctor told me, when I was in the chair opposite him. I cried so much. I pushed myself hard enough inside, three days, and I wanted to get it out. I wanted somewhere to let it out even more, the tears I shed were not enough, my soul had not been well washed away. And of course the first thing I did was call my sister.”
