The 50-year-old Bulgarian man, the driver of the truck carrying 500 kilos of high content hydroponic cannabis, “skunk”, seized after an organized operation by the Greek FBI, was brought before the investigating judge of Igoumenitsa this morning. The 50-year-old man is accused of importing and transporting hydroponic cannabis into Greek territory. According to reports, after his arrest he was uncooperative with Greek authorities.
The operation took place at the port of Igoumenitsa last Thursday, April 30. While checking the truck, which arrived from Italy, with the help of a specially trained dog, police officers spotted pallets of kitchen rolls and paper towels among its legal cargo, the packages of “skunk”. He had loaded up in Valencia, Spain.
Greek law enforcement authorities acted on information from Bulgarian authorities that trucks with Bulgarian plates might be carrying drugs.
