“Vote of confidence” in Olympia Odos’ discount programs, spearheaded by the mileage charge that the company first implemented from the beginning of 2021, is given by drivers, according to existing data.
It is indicative that at the end of March 2026, 172,885 transponders were in use and the overall electronic transit count (ETC) was 55.64%.
With the OLYMPIA PASS, the subscriber benefits from both the kilometric charge (i.e. he/she pays only according to the number of kilometres travelled) and the VALUE discount programme (discounts scaled according to the number of monthly passages from the same toll station), with a benefit of up to 85%.
The figures are revealing since from 1 January 2021, when the system was implemented, until 31 March 2026, 13,422,387 vehicles with o-passes have passed through the gates of the Hybrid System. The benefit for drivers is great since in the above period, the total amount refunded amounts to 12,023,438.57 euros. This proves in practice that it is a strategic choice of the company to charge drivers fairly according to the kilometres they drive, sources said.
It is recalled that the transponder is provided free of charge, with which significant discounts, fast and comfortable passage through the electronic lanes of all the country’s motorways and, above all, mileage charges on Olympia Odos are ensured.
All the same, it seems that international geopolitical developments are affecting travel due to the large increase in fuel prices. It is indicative that 3.3% fewer cars passed through the Elefsina toll to Pyrgos this year compared to Easter 2025. The corresponding figure from Rio to Pyrgos was -1.2%.
