The deadline for submitting applications to the 2026 Social Tourism Programme ends today, with the platform remaining available until midnight for private sector workers, those insured with the National Social Insurance Fund and registered unemployed persons of the DYPA.

The process is being completed after three consecutive extensions, which were deemed necessary due to technical difficulties caused by the increased volume of applications, leading to problems in the operation of the platform.

Interest is particularly high, with more than 340,000 applications already submitted for 300,000 vouchers. This year’s programme has been extended to 13 months, starting on 18 May and completing its cycle on 30 June 2027.

From tomorrow, Monday, May 3, the application process for retired freelancers (formerly known as OAEE) will open for nine days, until May 13. The corresponding programme for this category of beneficiaries will start on 1 June and will also run for 13 months.

In terms of benefits, increased benefits are foreseen for specific regions: the islands of Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos, Samos and Rhodes offer the possibility of up to 10 free nights without private participation. Similarly, in the municipalities of North Evia and Evros, as well as in Thessaly (excluding Sporades), beneficiaries can secure up to 12 free nights.
