There was a breakdown in the early morning on Kifissos, on the road to Piraeus, after a road accident involving a vehicle diversion in the Renti area.
The incident occurred at Agia Annis, when a car veered off course, hit the railings and collided with two other vehicles, under circumstances that remain under investigation. The vehicle was brought to a standstill in the middle lane and there was an oil spill on the roadway.
Traffic police and fire department forces were dispatched to the scene and proceeded to clear the roadway, pouring sawdust to absorb the oil.
Traffic was disrupted for about 45 minutes and was only conducted at times from the right lane, resulting in a queue of vehicles that stretched for almost two kilometres.
According to the traffic police, despite the severity of the collision, there were no serious injuries. Two of the vehicles involved were removed by cranes.
