Harris Giakoumatos was interviewed on camera for the Super Katerina show. The businessman and former water polo champion spoke openly about fatherhood, divorce and his long battle with depression.
Referring to his new writing project, he said his second book, “Leo’s Heroes”, aims to educate children on traffic education through a superhero who teaches them basic rules of the road, cars and bicycles.
Talking about parenthood, he stressed that he considers it “the greatest gift of life”, noting that parents have a lot to learn from their children. He said the experience can change the way one looks at life, making it simpler and more meaningful.
He also did not hesitate to mention his separation, explaining that he sought the help of a specialist to properly manage the situation and ensure a smooth transition for his child. As he mentioned, there is currently a calm and cooperative relationship with his former partner.
Finally, he spoke openly about his experience with depression, stressing that it is not overcome by a great effort, but through small daily “victories”. As he explained, organising daily life and adding simple, positive habits can go a long way to improving mental health and bringing joy back into life.
