A five-year-old boy who was operated on at Papageorgiou Hospital has had his finger wound repaired and was discharged this morning.

The child was transferred yesterday after 11.00am by ambulance from the 14th Nursery School of Evosmos to the hospital, with the first phalanx of his index finger amputated. The accident occurred under circumstances under investigation. The injury allegedly resulted from the child’s finger being trapped in the door of the kindergarten classroom. The ambulance and the child’s parents were immediately notified. The boy was taken to the pediatric surgery clinic, where the wound was stitched up. In the morning, the boy and his parents left the hospital for home.
