A quantity of cannabis with a total gross weight of more than 990 grams and three arrests of foreigners are the result of an operation by the Security Office of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus.

The arrests were made yesterday afternoon following intelligence gathering and a coordinated operation by the Piraeus Central Port Authority’s security office, the Regional Narcotics Task Force (P.O.D.I.N.) and the Directorate of Narcotics and Smuggling of the Headquarters of the Coast Guard.

These are three foreigners, Turkish nationals, aged 45, 26 and 39, who are accused of violating the law on narcotic drugs and conspiracy.

In particular, in a check carried out on a private car. vehicle driven by the 45-year-old, a nylon package containing 3.4 grams of cannabis was found under the seat, while 680 euros were found and seized in his possession.

A house search followed, in the presence of a judicial officer, where, with the assistance of a police drug detection dog, additional cannabis packages with a total gross weight of 989.1 grams were found and seized four mobile phones, a binoculars, a two-wheeler and an IX vehicle. During the operation, the 26-year-old and the 39-year-old were also arrested at the house. The Central Port Authority of Piraeus, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, seized a total of drugs, four mobile phones, the vehicle involved, and a two-wheeler.
