Leipsoi (https://www.instagram.com/visitlipsi/) confirms its place on the international tourist “map” by winning another important distinction, this time through the new directory of the popular Italian travel blog Girovagate.com, read by hundreds of thousands of travelers with special and quality interests.

In this list, curated by the co-founder of the National Association of Italian Travel Bloggers, which includes suggestions of alternative destinations in Europe for year-round travel, Lipsi emerges as a top choice as an authentic, unpretentious and high-quality destination. According to Girovagate.com, (https://girovagate.com/2026/02/5-destinazioni-ecosostenibili-europa-viaggio-2026.html), Lipsi is the epitome of “authentic Greece”, with special reference to the natural beauty of the island of Kalypso, its unique beaches, local gastronomy and the experiences offered by sea activities and excursions, elements that “leave the visitor speechless”. This distinction takes on even greater significance as it comes from an internationally recognized platform that is shaping trends in the European travel public and especially in the Italian market.

The same list includes, among others, destinations such as Lapland, Seville, Parma, South Holland, the Alps, Tuscany, Transylvania and Ancona, which further highlights the importance of Lipizzaner’s preeminence among established international destinations. The new promotion is part of the Municipality’s strategy to strengthen extroversion in terms of sustainability. Alongside this international distinction, Lipsi has also achieved another extremely important first at national level, as it has been named the first municipality in Greece with the most “inaccessible beaches”. This distinction results from the implementation of the recent Joint Ministerial Decision signed by the Ministers of Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis and Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou on the “inaccessible beaches”, where umbrellas, sunbeds, refreshment stands and generally any kind of economic activity are prohibited. In this context, Lipsi has a total of 23 inaccessible beaches, a number that ranks it at the top among all the municipalities in the country. This decision is in line with the municipality’s long-standing organized effort to protect the coastline by preserving unaltered beaches from over-exploitation and mass tourism.

Mayor of Lipsi Fotis Magos said, “The new international distinction from Girovagate.com is another confirmation that Lipsi is at the top of the choices for those seeking authenticity and quality in tourism. At the same time, being named the first Municipality in Greece with the most inaccessible beaches is a vindication of a conscious policy and strategy that we have been following for years: We protect our natural environment, preserve the character of our place and invest in a sustainable development model while upgrading our tourism services from the point of view of the Municipality, the local community and professionals, a fact that is also evident from the successive records in the number of visitors recorded in recent years on our island. Lipsi will continue to be a unique, authentic destination in the Aegean”.
