From March 28 until May 24, 2026, the country’s radio stations will be able to update their data electronically through the Single Public Portal, gov.gr. The Ministry of Digital Governance, through the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Post, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of Communication and Information and the National Telecommunications and Postal Commission, is proceeding with the implementation of the process of digital updating of the data of radio stations, aiming at the complete and reliable recording of the technical and operational data of the country’s radio stations, as well as the preparation for the renewal of their licensing and the effective international coordination of their activities.
The recent joint ministerial decision signed by the Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou and the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Pavlos Marinakis is part of a broader framework for accelerating the digital transformation of the public administration. With the creation of a special application on the gov.gr platform, the complete digitalisation of the process of updating the data of legally operating radio stations is being attempted, significantly reducing bureaucracy and time-consuming administrative procedures.
Who is affected
The procedure concerns the stations included in the list of legally operating radio stations, as it has been established on the basis of the above mentioned decisions of the FCC, which are invited to update their data exclusively via gov.gr.
.
The owner of the RS (natural person) or the legal representative of the RS (legal person) logs in using personal Taxisnet codes, either through gov.gr in the section “Citizen and everyday life” and the subsection “Telecommunications”, or directly via the e-mail address: https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/polites-kai-kathemerinoteta/telepikoinonies/epikairopoiese-stoikheion-radiophonikon-stathmon
The submission constitutes a declaration of responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the data. Upon completion of the process, the application receives a unique identifier and is stored in the user’s personal mailbox.
.
As part of the update, detailed data on the emission centres and antenna systems, as well as the necessary accompanying files, are declared. The data reflect the current operational status of the stations and are not used for other control procedures.
The deadline for submission is set until 24 May 2026 and is binding, with no possibility of extension. Non-compliance or submission of incomplete or inaccurate data constitutes a breach of the obligations under the applicable regulatory framework.
.
Target transparency
With this new feature, the Ministry of Digital Governance continues to implement targeted interventions for the digital transformation of the state, enhancing the transparency, efficiency and credibility of public services.
At the same time, in cooperation with the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, responsible for the media, Pavlos Marinakis, this procedure is an important step towards the completion of an important reform that will constitute the final licensing of radio stations throughout the country, following the procedure for the licensing of regional television stations. The draft bill for which is currently under public consultation) to bring order to a landscape that has remained unregulated for decades.
It should be noted that the design and development of the service was carried out by the General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Governance and the National Network of Infrastructures for Technology and Research (EDYTE SA – GRNET) of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
