Police officers found a grenade in a house in Kypseli. Three people were arrested, and one of them had an outstanding arrest warrant for drug trafficking.

As announced by the Hellenic Police on Monday (27.04.2026), police officers of the Athens Sub-Directorate for Investigation and Detection of Crimes, in the framework of targeted operational action to tackle “street crimes”, found a grenade in a house in Kypseli.

More specifically, after investigating and evaluating information regarding houses where criminal activity was detected, in the evening hours of April 20 and with the assistance of police officers of the IS Team, checks were carried out in Kypseli and Patissia.

In the houses of these areas, among other things, were found and seized:

– a defensive grenade, carefully hidden on the balcony of an apartment,

– 2 electronic precision scales,

– 27 grams of processed cannabis,

– 43 drug tablets; and

– 3 cell phones.

As a result of the targeted checks, three foreigners, aged 28 and 20, were arrested and charged – on occasion – with possession of a grenade together and violation of the law on addictive substances.

In addition, the 28-year-old arrested man had an outstanding arrest warrant for drug trafficking.
