The Cypriot tourism market is experiencing increased demand for Greece this year. According to a statement by the Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT), current international conditions and the unstable geopolitical and economic climate are leading Cypriot travellers to familiar and easily accessible options (short breaks), with Greece being considered the most reliable and safe destination for 2026.

This positive message emerged during the Travel Expo Cyprus 2026 tourism exhibition, held in Nicosia from 17 to 19 April 2026 with the participation of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT)

.

The Region of Central Greece and the Municipalities of Volos and South Pelion were co-exhibitors at the EOT stand, while the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace and the Municipality of Alexandroupolis took part in the exhibition with their own stands.

The focus of the Greek participation was on the promotion of special forms of tourism, such as gastronomic, cultural, city break and marine tourism, with emphasis on the authentic Greek experience and high quality services, while strengthening the presence of our country in the Eastern Mediterranean markets in order to maintain its leading position as a top tourist destination.

The same statement noted that Greece’s presence at the exhibition confirmed the long-standing strong preference of Cypriot travellers for Greek destinations and, at the same time, further strengthened the ties between Greece and Cyprus in the tourism sector.
