An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 was recorded at 10:45 am in the area of Goudoura in Lassithi, according to the Geodynamic Institute.

A few minutes later, a second earthquake of magnitude 4 followed, with its epicentre about 16 kilometres south of the same area.

The main tremor was located in the marine area about 13 kilometers south of Goudoura, with no damage or injuries reported so far.

The earthquakes were felt in areas of eastern Crete, with authorities monitoring the development of the phenomenon.
