With the last statements of representation in support of the prosecution, the trial of the Tempi train accident continues today in GAIOPOLIS.
At the previous session of the Larissa Court of Appeal of the Three-Member Court of Appeal, on Monday, most of the 230 supporters of the charge included in the indictment, namely relatives of the victims, the injured, lawyers’ associations and the Union of Greek Engine Drivers “Panhellenic Union of Traction Personnel”, made a statement.
Some declared to the court that they did not wish to appear while others announced for the first time their intention to declare an appearance as was done in the last session with the Greek State through its representative from the State Legal Council.
The State’s statement is expected to be completed today, to be followed by any objections from the defendants’ defence lawyers as to the presence of those supporting the charge.
It should be noted that there is a pending request from the president of Eleftheria and advocate for the relatives of victims Zoe Konstantopoulou regarding the audiovisual coverage and broadcasting of the trial. The president said that this request will be considered after the legalization process is completed so that any advocates who wish to do so can be seated.
We recall that the president’s order regarding the number of persons who may be present at any one time in the courtroom and the number of journalists covering the trial is in force. This order is in force until the completion of the legalisation process and then a new one is expected to be issued.
